Daily logs and photos

Field reporting now has a shared home in Specset. Daily Log keeps the day's notes, manpower, delays, weather, and photos together, while Photos provides a project-wide timeline and album library for every image.

Daily Log and the connected Photos workspace are currently in beta. Email support@specset.com to request access.

  • Capture quickly. Type, dictate, or drop photos into Quick log. Specset files the entry into the right part of the day, and you can adjust the structured details at any time.
  • Move from feed to report. Follow the chronological feed in the field, then switch to Report to review the day summary, manpower, work performed, delays, and photos. Export the finished record as a PDF.
  • Find every photo again. Browse photos by day, week, or month, search and filter them, organize manual or smart albums, and select groups to download or archive.
The report turns the day's feed into a structured record that is ready to review and export.

Photos filed from a daily entry stay linked to that day. Open an image to review its details and tags, move through nearby photos, or return to the supporting log entry.

Daily-entry photos and direct uploads share one searchable project timeline.

Folder tree and sorting for Documents

Deep document sets are easier to move around now. The full folder structure sits in a rail on the left of the Documents tab, in both the card and list views, so you can see where everything lives while the files stay one level deep. Picking a folder shows just that folder's contents, and the tree stays put, so hopping from Electrical to Mechanical takes one click instead of backing out and drilling down again.

  • One sort for both views. Sort by name, last updated, or date added. Name sorting understands leading numbers, so 01, 02 and 10 stay in the order you gave them. Folders stay pinned above documents by default, with counts in the section headers when a folder holds both, and your choice is remembered per project.
  • Drag to file. Drag a document or folder onto any folder in the rail to move it there. Dragging files in from your computer still uploads them, and now drops them straight into the folder you aimed at.
  • The path is in the breadcrumb. The folder trail lives in the page breadcrumb at the top, and the last crumb opens a list of neighboring folders so you can jump sideways without going up a level first.
  • Works on a phone. Below tablet width the rail opens as a sheet from the toolbar, and picking a folder takes you there and closes it.
One sort control, shared by the card and list views and remembered per project.

In the list view the tree also narrows the table to the selected folder, and double clicking a folder row drills into it. Everything stays in sync across views, so switching between cards and list keeps you in the same folder with the same order.

The same folder in the list view, with the rail scoping the table.

Draft documents from your own templates

Your deliverables already have a format. The agent now drafts into it instead of starting from a blank page.

  • Word templates. Attach a .docx and the agent maps its structure, then fills each section with content grounded in your project record. Every fill is backed by citations, and sections that need information only you have are flagged for input rather than invented.
  • Excel templates. Attach a .xlsx form or log and the agent fills the fields and table rows while your formulas, styles, dropdowns, and images stay byte-for-byte intact. The result opens in Excel like you filled it in yourself.
  • Review before it ships. Drafts open in the paginated document editor for a final pass, then export to DOCX or spreadsheet.

Templates can be attached ad hoc in a chat or registered on a skill so the whole team drafts the same way. Read more in Skills.
