Skills

On this page

A skill is a workflow you teach the agent once and reuse everywhere: a review checklist, a QA sweep, an extraction, a report format. Skills belong to your organization or a single project, and anyone on the team can run them.

Running a skill

Type / in any conversation to open the skill picker, or start one from the skills settings page. The agent loads the skill's instructions and follows them for that run, asking for any inputs the skill defines up front.

Creating your own

  • Create with AI. Describe the workflow in plain language and the Skill Creator authors the skill with you, from Org Settings → Skills, Project Settings → Skills, or the Create a new skill card right inside the chat picker.
  • Create manually. Prefer full control? Build and edit the skill yourself in the editor, instructions, inputs, and all.
  • Iterate as you go. Skills are just editable records. Refine the instructions after a run and the next run picks up the change.

Checklists and extractions

Skills can produce structured tables, not just prose.

  • Checklist and review skills define your categories, checks, and custom columns. Each run fills the table with findings, every one backed by citations into the project record.
  • Extraction skills sweep everything in scope, whether that's documents, spec sections, drawing sheets, or RFIs, and build a results table row by row with a citation on every value.

Template document drafting

Attach a Word or Excel template to a skill and every run drafts into your format.

  • Word templates. The agent maps the document's structure and fills each section with cited project content, flagging anything that needs your input rather than inventing it.
  • Excel templates. Form fields and table rows are filled while your formulas, styles, dropdowns, and images stay exactly as you built them.
  • Review and export. Drafts open in the paginated document editor for a final pass, then export to DOCX or spreadsheet.

Templates can also be attached ad hoc in a conversation for one-off drafts.

Help when you want it

Most teams set up their first skills with us during onboarding, and we're happy to do the same for a new workflow any time. If a workflow needs more than a skill can express, we can build it fully custom.
