Plan Comparison
On this page
Compare two plan sets, such as 90% CD and 100% CD, and review the changes directly on the revised drawings.
- Type
/in any chat, choose Drawing Comparison, and pick the two plan sets to compare. - The agent compares the sets and produces a Plan Set Comparison. Open the result to view the revised sheets with revision clouds and numbered callouts.
- Select a sheet or change in the list alongside the plans to jump to its location. Select a change to read its description and inspect before-and-after close-ups of the affected detail.
Review the marked-up plans
Search for a sheet or change, or filter the list by change type, source, or significance. Changes are labeled Added, Removed, Modified, or Moved.
If you have permission to edit the comparison, you can adjust the annotations, add your own marks, and switch individual changes off to exclude them from the review and export. Filters help you find changes; they do not decide which changes the export includes.
Download the compiled PDF
- To export only part of the comparison, select the sheets using the checkboxes in the change list. Leave all sheets unselected to export the full comparison.
- Click Download compiled PDF. If you selected sheets, the button shows the number of sheets to download.
- Keep Marked-up PDF (.pdf) as the format. Include change-log cover adds a list of included changes with links to their revised sheets.
- Leave Flatten annotations on to bake the marks into the pages for sharing or printing. Turn it off to keep annotations editable in a PDF editor.
- Click Export. The PDF includes your saved annotation edits and the changes left switched on in the review.
You can also choose Excel (.xlsx) to export the change list, with optional cropped images of the original and revised regions.
Follow changes across sheets
The comparison can match sheets even when their numbers change. On redrawn sheets, it compares individual details, schedules, and notes to distinguish content edits from layout shifts.
When a detail moves to another sheet, the comparison identifies its original sheet and checks whether the detail also changed. The result is labeled Moved, without a duplicate removal on the source sheet.
Compare published revisions
You can also compare a sheet against its own revision history, without picking any uploaded documents. Ask questions like:
- "What changed in the latest revision of A-101?"
- "Compare rev 1 and rev 3 of E-201."
- "What changed in the newest revisions of this set?"
The agent finds each sheet's published revisions, compares the latest against the previous one (or the specific revisions you name), and opens the results in the same annotated comparison view.
